Online Support from a Midwife?

There is a real shortage of midwives and it is affecting many pregnant women and young mothers who urgently need care from a midwife and who are entitled to it. I still remember when I was working in the birthing center in Hamburg, how often we had to turn women away and how often some were left alone without counseling, especially during postpartum, often far away from their family of origin. This leads to fuller pediatric and gynecological practices.

It also makes sense for women traveling to get online support from a midwife. Foreign countries, foreign customs, foreign language, the feeling of being uprooted? A midwife can help to feel safe and seen during this turbulent and exciting time. Women often end up on Google, YouTube, and other channels without a midwife and unfortunately acquire “dangerous half-knowledge”, which can lead to insecurity, fear, and self-doubt. One thing often happens too: The pregnant woman distances herself from her intuition, her instinct, her connection to herself and her child - and where is the involvement of the father? Midwives can help because we focus on the positive, the strengthening, and the bonding, without losing sight of the medical view of a physiological process. The father plays a very important role for me in particular, as he often represents the bridge between midwives and his wife. In addition, an expectant father goes through very deep processes and should be taken seriously in his feelings and statements and feel that his needs are seen. That's why I'm so happy to offer online counseling for expectant parents. Here on my website you can find out everything about my offers and see exactly what they include. Be it virtual check-ups, help with pregnancy problems, childbirth preparation, gymnastic exercises, emotional and spiritual support, help in choosing the place of birth, and much much more. Just have a look and find your offer
